I currently work part time at a retail store in the airport. I was looking to get a second part time job for more hours. I think about a month ago, I applied at another job in the same terminal. I got a call from them the day before yesterday, I was assuming for an interview. Because this job is in the airport , (I've interviewed for a few airport jobs before) interviews are usually held outside of the airport or you can meet with the interviewer at baggage claim and they can escort you through TSA. So it's a little bit of a plus if the candidate already works in the airport because they can just walk over to the store since they have a badge to get in already. After interviewing, your hired, then you apply for a badge which can take a week or so. My current job is on my Indeed resume and I decided to mention it during the call because I figured it would build some trust since they already know i'm approved. They asked if I could come into the actual store so I said I'd come in the next day (yesterday) around 6 when Id get off work. They worded it like “Come in for your badge application” which I thought was slightly weird because there was no actual interview. Yesterday, I'm working and around 1:15 pm, two ladies come into the retail store i work in asking for me with a clipboard to fill out the badge application including personal info such as ID number and SSN. I'm working beside the manager who I didn't explicitly tell I was looking for another job. I did mention it a while ago and a lot of people there have two jobs but it seems so unprofessional because what if I was looking to quit my current job. I filled all of that out without even telling them about myself face to face or discussing the pay. We literally discussed pay while walking to their store with passengers all around. Just because you know where someone works, how could you come into the store right at the till disrupting our customers? Also just because I already work in the airport and have a badge, why would you think I don't want to interview you/the job?
