On April 5th I requested to use PTO for June 1st and 2nd. I was told they cannot approve it now and have to wait until we are closer to the Memorial Day holiday. Even though the dates I requested are almost a week AFTER the actual holiday, they said that the whole week after is on “holiday hold”…okay. I’ll wait.
I hadn’t heard anything so on 5/18 I sent a very friendly follow up email. Crickets, zero response of any kind. I sent another follow up on 5/24. No response again. My manager then messages me the next day apologizing stating she’s going to get back to me today on it. Well it’s the next day and still nothing.
Do I have the right to be upset about this? It’s less than a week out but for traveling and planning purposes with my family this is causing me severe stress not know, especially with the weekend coming up when they don’t work and I know I won’t get a response. I’ve been a loyal employee for several years and help out all the time. Gah. I feel like this is a form of passive bullying or that it’s being done on purpose. I gave ample notice and can’t get so much as a “we’ll get back to you soon” or even a no. Anything would suffice.
