our normal work hours are 40hrs a week with optional overtime. usually me and one of the other people who do the same job as me do overtime every second week(50hrs).
lately they've moved that person but not before having them train two people to do our job. (only two people per shift generally do our job so i guess im getting the boot next)
the kicker is, you have to be fast to do what we do so having new people doing it isn't very efficient. they make the old person swap in(which they were specifically told they would not have to do) and i lose time every day training the new people.
now onto the overtime, at the start of the year we(everyone, not just us two) were made do 17 weeks of OT. they had to stop it after that because labour laws or something, thank god.
THEN in the middle of the year we were threatened to do OT, if we didn't we would have to go in for a “meeting” which would probably end up in a warning, as seems to be the way.
NOW my co-worker and i have been subtly threatened to do OT again, just us, because we're needed. the threat was bringing back mandatory OT- which no one is happy about
the REAL kicker? our OT rate is 15e
