I guess this is a bit of a vent post, sorry.
I’m 34, living in Canada, on disability. Because of circumstances, my life recently imploded. 5 year relationship ended, moved back in with my dad, lost my job that I could barely manage to do, and my car bit the dust. I know I’m fortunate to have somewhere to go to live rent free (the only way to survive on disability), so I don’t have to find work immediately.
I’ve realized working in a rigid structure doesn’t work for me. My last job was as a delivery driver, and while that offered some flexibility, it still meant I had to work on my bad days, and that I had to keep mostly normal hours. Unfortunately, my disability means I’m up at random hours sometimes, and sleepy when society thinks I should be awake.
Does anyone else find themselves wanting to find a “side hustle” that makes just enough to live? I don’t need a lavish lifestyle, hell, I’d be happy with a tiny house in the middle of nowhere, working from home on something that isn’t time-of-day dependent.
Actually, if anyone has a serious suggestion, I’m all ears.
