Micromanager: Calendar police

Hello! So I have a situation and I want people to weigh in on it. I started on a new team May 2022. Things had been going well for the most part. The first negative encounter I had with her is when we were having a one on one and I usually turn on my camera( I work from home) for these meetings. I was wearing a nursing tank top. She told me I looked like I just stepped away from the pool and I should look more professional during meetings or I should keep my camera off. That was the first instance that made me feel like something was off. To be fair during this time I was going through a lot of things personally and I’ve done my best up to that point to keep her in the loop. This was in August 2022. October 2022 The next…

She told me I looked like I just stepped away from the pool and I should look more professional during meetings or I should keep my camera off. To be fair during this time I was going through a lot of things personally and I’ve done my best up to that point to keep her in the loop. This was in August 2022.

The next situation that really started this whole calendar debacle was that I forgot to put in a day on my time sheet that I took off and she didn’t see it on the time reporting side but saw it on my calendar. I apologized emphatically and explained that it was a slip up and it wouldn’t happen again. She also asked me to make sure I “stay green” on teams. This would be my 4th manager at this company and the first one who cares about my status. Fine no problem I’ll make sure I don’t stay away for too long. ( she reached out to my co worker to ask if he tried to contact me at any point and if I didn’t respond or if he’s noticed that I’ve been away for long periods of time.) She also harped on the fact that I need to either accept all my meetings or decline them, tentative is not an option in her opinion. I argued a little on that point because sometimes I get meetings for things that I would try to attend unless I had something urgent and I didn’t want to go through the process of canceling last minute. She also wanted me to put my vacation on her calendar. Sure ok.

In another one on one she expressed her discontentment of my calendar again. Stating that it was showing a lot of tentative meetings and that’s not okay. Berated me for 5 minutes about how my calendar should look. I thought I was doing what she wanted at this point so I was taken aback that we were talking about this calendar thing again. Not any of my previous managers had an issue with this before. (They cared more about the work being completed) in fact she has not mentioned once that I haven’t being performing adequately.

Which brings me to now. My coworker told me she reached out to him asking if I took off time last Friday and he responded that he wasn’t sure. So last Friday I had a rough week and I took a half day on Friday. I reported it in our HR tool. However, when I went to create the outlook event it didn’t go through all the way. I noticed when I rebooted my computer the day before. So I added it in after the fact. I know she’s going to bring this up on our next one on one next Wednesday. At this point I think this is just ridiculous. She had 50 direct reports and she’s in the weeds of my calendar for a half day on Friday. Given at this point since Oct I have put in every day out in the tool, on my calendar(except last Friday), on her calendar, ect.

I really like my team and the work, but my boss micromanaging me like this is making me reconsider. What should I do?
