Mini desk revolution

So I started a job a few months ago at a huge company. I'm a male in an office with about 90% females. When I first started, I also started with another two males and one female as well. We all became buddy-buddy even though we worked in other departments. I noticed that during lunch almost all everyone sat at their desks eating and watching for those “urgent emails.” Fuck that. At exactly my 12pm I get up, and go eat or take my break. The other guys I started with also do this and even that one female does too. Sometimes we all get together and sometimes we don't. The whole huge office sees us take off and go to lunch. At 1pm we come back and get to work again. At first my coworkers were like “Oh, I couldn't do that! I have so many emails! Its just…

So I started a job a few months ago at a huge company. I'm a male in an office with about 90% females.

When I first started, I also started with another two males and one female as well. We all became buddy-buddy even though we worked in other departments.

I noticed that during lunch almost all everyone sat at their desks eating and watching for those “urgent emails.”

Fuck that.

Its just so urgent.”

I was more of an attitude of “Fuck that, I'm taking my break.”

Well after a few weeks of me taking my break every single day, I started to notice that more and more of the females started to buddy up and coming down to the cafeteria, have a good lunch, socialize, and come back to their desk to finish the day. There is more talking and laughter in the office now. People will get up and go over to their desks and chitchat and giggle and then go back to their desks.

One coworker that has been there for 20 years doing the same shit even told me that by me starting there with the new hires started a mini-revolution and that people noticed that we were “doing our thing” and liked it.

Management has noticed that in the last few weeks production etc. has been through the roof and give kudos to the workers. They think they must be doing something right with people working so well now but fuck them. I know what it was. It all started when I and the guys started taking our breaks on time and not burying ourselves to our desks with this bullshit worker guilt.
