Missing Wages vs Dept of Labor

We’re supposed to be paid for our work. I have a claim in for a late payment with the department of labor relations. I filed the claim nearly a year ago. I recently received another form to fill out telling me I’m in the “queue” for a settlement hearing to discern whether or not to take the case to whoever hears it. The idea of the settlement hearing is to come to an agreement for the claimant to take less of an award than they are entitled to. Considering this is what’s going on what motivation is there for an employer to pay fairly and on time? Even when they don’t pay us on time and we go to the Labor Commission we are told to settle for less than what we’re entitled to. Meanwhile late or missing payments make it impossible to make fixed expenses, but a large corporation…

Considering this is what’s going on what motivation is there for an employer to pay fairly and on time? Even when they don’t pay us on time and we go to the Labor Commission we are told to settle for less than what we’re entitled to. Meanwhile late or missing payments make it impossible to make fixed expenses, but a large corporation is given a pass and ultimately allowed to pay less than the award the law states. But “people just don’t want to work anymore”
