Context – I work in a sales / service setting, sales makes more with commission but service has an hourly premium. Flow of work is steady on both sides, I work in sales.
I get an email from my supervisor, with my boss and other supervisor CCd: Hey OP can you work service as well for two hours a day for the next week. [OtherEmployee] is on holiday and we're a little light on coverage.
Me in response: Yeah, absolutely I can! Just curious – Will the service premium be applied for those 2 hours?
Email back shortly later from supervisor: Nevermind we worked it out.
