20+ years ago and I still remember it, my first office job. The system I used to do my job went down 20 minutes before the end of the day, according to IT no chance it would be up before my day was supposed to be over. Mind you I literally could do no work without this system. I ended up leaving work 10 minutes early that day.
The next day the manager of the department asked if I left early, I said yes because I couldn't do anything and there was no chance the system was coming up before 530pm (it didn't). He gave me some BS about needing to be there in case someone had a question or blah blah blah.
So, for the next month, he called or stopped by my desk at 529pm every day, for a month…petty MF'er.
