Antiwork

Most unprofessional job I’ve had so far.

So I work for a security company who is subcontracted through a huge appliance type store. I pretty much do security for a lumber yard around back. Yesterday I had to call in due to severe stomach pains which persists today as well. Well my supervisor told me last week that she let her phone get shut off so her boyfriend would stop bothering her. So I called the boss above her. I tell him what's going on and that I would try to come in the next day if I feel better but I have to wait until Monday to see a doctor. He tells me that I need to get ahold of my supervisor (he knows her phone is off) or that I need to show up because “it costs him $300 a day to put someone else in there just so I can lay up at home.”…

He tells me that I need to get ahold of my supervisor (he knows her phone is off) or that I need to show up because “it costs him $300 a day to put someone else in there just so I can lay up at home.” I ended up just hanging up on him. I've never been treated this badly by an employer before. I want to go to HR but I know HR is more concerned with the protection of the company than the actual workers.

I'm just going to look for another job but thought I would get this off my chest so I'm not angry all day about it on top of being in pain.
