I work as a cook in a nursing home. The mother is a resident here, and the daughter is a nurse. Last week, I made something the mother didn't like, and she threw it at me. I got in trouble for this, was given a final written warning, and am trying to move on from it.
Since then, now over a week later, she's refused to eat anything I make, and the nurse hasn't spoken to me. (Aren't there supposed to be laws about not being able to work in the same place as a family member?) Today, I told them that I'll still have food ready for her if she changes her mind. The nurse said “she won't”. I said “it'll still be there, just in case. I'm not going to poison it, if that's what she's afraid of”. And this woman, twice my age btw, screamed at me, “That's my MOM! You need to watch your mouth!”
It feels like they're both ganging up on me, and want me fired. Over a goddamn pie.
