Applied for a new position kind of just out of curiosity to see what was out there. They called back and said I wasn’t selected but they had other positions I might be a good fit for and asked if I would like to meet with the hiring manager to discuss my goals. That went well, panel interview with my future coworkers the next week and an offer the same day. More companies need to be this way! Talked to my current manager about this years performance review, no promotion until next year even though I am at the top of the list for high performers in my group. There’s about to be a big shakeup in management and I think he has my best interests in mind but I’ve seen the company hold back people so im taking the plunge to move my whole life to a new state. Huge scary decision but there is no hope for progression at my current role. Companies need to value their best employees higher if they want them to stick around.
