Antiwork

My American friends, these are the worker rights we have in a poor Asian country

To avoid turning this into a political post, I would refrain from mentioning the name of the country but many in the region have similar laws: 1) 30 days a year paid vacation. By law a minimum. We also have approximately 15 days a year of national holidays that are considered days off (besides the normal weekend). 2) If you are an expatriate, you also get a plane ticket to and from your home country once a year 3) When you quit or are fired (unless you're fired for illegal activity or fraud) you get some workers benefits. I get 1 month salary (based on my last salary) for each year I have worked when I leave the company. This is by law. 4) You're allowed a minimum of 15 minutes late clocking in by law. So if your work starts at 8:00 AM, you can clock in at 8:15…

1) 30 days a year paid vacation. By law a minimum. We also have approximately 15 days a year of national holidays that are considered days off (besides the normal weekend).
2) If you are an expatriate, you also get a plane ticket to and from your home country once a year
3) When you quit or are fired (unless you're fired for illegal activity or fraud) you get some workers benefits. I get 1 month salary (based on my last salary) for each year I have worked when I leave the company. This is by law.
4) You're allowed a minimum of 15 minutes late clocking in by law. So if your work starts at 8:00 AM, you can clock in at 8:15 AM and this is 100% protected by law
5) If you're an employee, you and your entire family must get Medical insurance which will cover practically everything (dental, optical, everything) for a very nominal deductible. The terms and conditions for your policy are standard by the government and insurance companies and employers can only increase the benefits, not reduce
6) You can only be fired after 3 warning and you cannot be given a warning less than 30 days before the last (this might be 90 days but it is 30 days for sure)
7) If you have an exam of ANY KIND, they cannot make you work

Mind you I typed this list out from the top of my mind. There are many other rights and benefits we have at our place of employment that I am forgetting. This place isn't a dystopia for sure and I know many flaws also which I will not list (mainly because those flaws are somehow amplified in American). But these rights I feel are reasonable and should be a bare minimum in most countries.
