i work in the freezing midwest. our company is a non profit who transports special needs children to their appointments. whenever we drop off a child to their parent they usually come right to the van to grab their child.
on this particularly icy morning, my boss instructed me NOT to help the woman down the stairs for insurance reasons. i get that i suppose. the mother exclaimed she didnt want to go down the stairs to bring her child cuz it was unsafe. my boss(driver) told her he didnt want to go up the stairs, she went back inside and he drove off.
i spent the whole night ruminating about the immorality of his actions. the event happened yesterday. i thought things would've blown over but he went out of his way to tell me “i cancelled the clients transportation because of you.”
i got into this field to make a difference and help the downtrodden and…now this. i am being punished for trying to do the right thing. sorry for the rant. i just feel so bad for that client
