First a bit of background, I just recently graduated last year and have close to about 2 years work experience. I was hired to work as a technical co lead in a project. I was pretty much the 'lead' for some coworkers who had 10+ years of work experience. I didn't know the content too well and my seniors were aware of that. I did a decent amount of work behind the scenes but wasn't really leading the project and leading meetings as I felt a little inferior in terms of my skills and experience. This went on for about 6 months until today, a senior VP pulled me into a call with a few other senior members of the team. He yelled at me and said he was dissapointed for not stepping up. He then threatened me and said there will be consequences if I don't step it up in the next 3 weeks. I just sat silent and apologized, but I still feel pretty upset and shaken up. I understand that I deserve criticism for my performance, but am I being too soft? Or was it unprofessional of him to do what he did. I'm pretty new in the field so I don't know what's appropriate and what's not
