My boss humiliated me in front of everyone for not doing something I didn’t even know I was supposed to do

This just happened so I'm still worked up about it, I make the steaks and grill the bacon in a burger restaurant, which I cook in the same way since I started working there 4 months ago. My boss examined my bacon today and screamed for 30 minutes at me because it wasn't cooked enough. He said I needed more training from my manager, that it's inadmissible and that “all of the pigs are dead for nothing because of me” (this was super weird) and made a big scene in front of everyone. This isn't the first time my boss has yelled at someone in the kitchen. Three people have already quit because of his yelling. I was also yelled at once before this because I wasn't fast enough. When he came in the kitchen he started screaming at my colleague because she put too many fries in the fryer,…

When he came in the kitchen he started screaming at my colleague because she put too many fries in the fryer, before he came to my station to yell at me.

I want to specify that the bacon WAS cooked, just not completely dark, and this is why he was mad, because when it's in the burger it is not crispy enough for him if it doesn't break immediately in a powder when the client takes a bite.

When my manager came later, he told me my bacon was fine and that my boss was just stressed out today. But I just can't stand being treated like this for minimum wage. I told my manager that if this happens again, I quit. He seemed shocked but said okay.

Now I'm second-guessing my reaction. Did I overreact? I feel like I can't keep working in an environment where people are constantly being yelled at and humiliated by this one guy.
