When I first joined my current company, I was promised a higher salary than my previous job, which paid quite well. However, after leaving my old job and signing the paperwork at the new company, I discovered that I had been misled. The position only offered minimum wage plus a meager commission. Feeling trapped, as my previous employer was not interested in rehiring me, I had no choice but to continue working in this sales role.
The leads provided were of poor quality, forcing me to invest my own money to generate better leads. Despite my success in generating thousands of leads each month and requesting a raise, I only received a small, insignificant increase in pay. This has left me demotivated and disheartened due to the low compensation.
To make matters worse, my boss displays highly unprofessional and unacceptable behavior. He is racist, homophobic, emotionally abusive, and has a short temper. He yells constantly—at least 20 times a day—complains about everything, and berates me for not earning more commission even though he specifically asked me to focus on generating leads. He also inappropriately distributes quality leads among his family friends who work there, and even yells at the clients we bring in.
On one occasion, he insulted a young girl who wanted to sign up for our services, calling her obese and causing her to leave in tears. He frequently makes inappropriate and disturbing comments, including joking about engaging in sexual activities with minors. This behavior makes it clear that he is a terrible person and creates a toxic work environment.
Additional notes: I have been trapped here for 3-4 years now. I wish the obese comment wasn’t just a one time thing. He hates all color, calls people to their faces “poor” and gets upset with me if someone doesn’t sign up and screams at me for 1 hour almost daily.
