I’ve been struggling really really bad with a flying phobia over the past couple of years and it only got worse during and after COVID. I’ve explained this to my employer every year and every year they insist in putting me on a plane for this work trip even though half the group leaves by car. I try really hard to go above and beyond for this company everyday for the last 9 years. My initial contract does not require me to travel for work. I asked to join the road crew and was told no yet again. The concern is that I’ll be out of the office 2 extra days, I work on a laptop and can work from literally anywhere and I have proven that to my boss who “don’t doubt you can”. Why should I keep giving these people my all when they don’t even try to understand a fear I can’t even control.
