so i’m 26F and my boss 50sM. i’m already very anxious about germs and my personal space etc, but i’ve learned how to cope with everyday life and working around people.
i understand that old people tend to lick their fingers to flip pages, my mom does it and it has always disgusted me. like why put your saliva on something that you’re giving me??? my boss has been doing this. he will set papers down at my desk and instead of letting me look at them (bc i’m not stupid, i can read them and understand what i need to do), he will lick his finger, and flip through the pages to explain insignificant things about the document. and now i have saliva on pages that i have to touch.
it’s so unnecessary and makes me stall on doing whatever work i need to do bc now i have to use a tissue to touch the papers he gave me. i do not feel comfortable telling him this, but i need to do something bc my work space doesn’t feel clean when he does that (especially with covid) and it pisses me off to the extent that it makes me unproductive. anyone else’s coworkers do this?
édit: just remembering how one time he gave me a document with chocolate finger prints on it, assuming he had eaten a chocolate pastry and then licked his fingers to touch the pages. i’m gonna throw up thinking about it 🤢
