So today my boss sent my line manager to tell me something. That's right… Couldn't be bothered to say it to me in person!
Apparently I'm now required to put in my office calendar where I am AT ALL TIMES. This is due to the fact that sometimes “my boss needs me and doesn't know where I am”.
I have a desk job, I rarely have meetings and when I do he is usually in them too.
The only time I leave my desk is when I go for lunch. Apart from that I'm always at my desk… On a rare occasion I got to the stationary cupboard for a few things or I have a toilet break.
I'm not quite sure why it's now a requirement for me to announce where I am at every second of the day but I feels like I'm not trusted.
I don't think I take the piss with lunch breaks, I have my alloted time and I'm certainly never away from my desk for any extended period. What is this micro managing?!
