My boss won’t stop bringing her terrible kids to work

I don't know if this is the correct place to post this, but I need to vent before I explode. My boss has two young kids that are absolutely feral. They do not listen to anyone, especially not her. Whenever school is out, or she can't find a babysitter, or one of them has an appointment (etc etc) she will bring one or both of them to work with her. They act like typical poorly behaved children; screaming and fighting with each other, grabbing things they shouldn't be touching and running off with them, making huge messes that their mom rarely makes them clean up. It would be bad enough if we worked in an office setting, but we do not. We work with sharp objects and live animals that are either terrified of the kids, want to attack them, or are extremely easily distracted by them. Luckily no harm…

Luckily no harm has come to any of the animals yet because of this, but there are many times it has come close. Both her kids have been bitten or scratched or thrown to the ground multiple times but never anything too serious that would require stitches or something. Still. Not only is this a big accident waiting to happen but it is extremely hard to work professionally and safely while also having to babysit two small terrorists, something that I did NOT sign up for. Imagine trying to make an incredibly important and delicate phone call while two kids won't stop screaming at each other over sharing an iPad and running back and forth through the office door. A door that has no lock on it, by the way, because one time one of those kids locked themselves in the office in order to pull out a bunch of kitchen knives and throw them everywhere for fun. It's not a pleasant experience.

Now, I have openly admitted that I don't like children. I've never specifically said that I don't like my boss's children, but since half of my co-workers also have kids and I am married I do get the “when are you going to start having kids?” question quite frequently, to which I've said absolutely never every time. I feel like it's because of my dislike of kids that no one takes me seriously when I get annoyed by them being at my workplace. Instead it gets turned into a huge joke like “oh, congrats OP, your two favorite people will be here tomorrow” that infuriates me. Obviously they understand my feelings about this or they wouldn't joke about it.

I have tried both passive aggressively asking my boss to stop bringing her kids and just flat out saying “Boss, please, if you're going to have your kids with you then just stay home. I'd rather do all your work myself than have them up here.” Neither of which ever works. I've tried to be understanding; my boss is essentially a single mom and I get that there are times she struggles with finding someone to watch her kids, but when will it be enough? When an animal gets an eye gouged out because her kid screams at the wrong time? When one of her kids gets their hand ripped off because they won't stop trying to pet the animal that clearly doesn't like them and my boss won't properly supervise them? I get made out to be the bad guy if I bring up these questions. They say I'm just being grumpy and need to be nicer, or they'll agree with me in private but then as soon as the boss is around they act like everything is fine. I feel like I'm losing my mind here but I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who's being rational.

School just ended for the oldest one this last week and I am not ready to deal with another summer of this. I'm already so tired.

TLDR: my boss doesn't supervise her horrible wild kids at a workplace where kids should never be allowed and me being unhappy about it makes me the bad guy.
