Long story short everyone in my house has Covid. When I started feeling sick, I assumed I had it as well. I told my company. They said no problem, just provide a test result and we'll pay you for the days you miss. Fair and reasonable in my opinion.
Well as it turns out, I likely have the flu, not Covid. Apparently there's no pay if you get the flu. I still told them I have Covid, but I didn't get the doctors note that would've qualified me for payment for the days I missed.
My company doesn't care if I get sick. They only care if I have Covid because it's politically correct to take care of employees with that illness but nothing else. Fml.
