My coworker had Covid and sat out for a week and wasn’t paid for working from home

Pretty much what the title says. I work for a family run business and the owner is old and tends to do some pretty drastic things like taking away our water when he feels like we're drinking too much. I recently started working, so I haven't been present for many of these jaw-dropping “events”, but recently I had a coworker who was sick with Covid. She was out for a week but worked from home for the entirety of the week and just came back. Now for God knows why, he hates my coworker and treats her like actual shit and she doesn't respect herself enough to stand up but I'm done with it. Having a fulltime job is bad enough, I want these people to pay for making our lives miserable instead of trying to work with us. Anyway, she comes back from a 5 day remote…

Anyway, she comes back from a 5 day remote work week since she had Covid, but as she comes back, he originally decided not to pay her, but now instead is choosing to pay her for only 3 of those 5 work days. Now she makes salary and also has vacation time (we have no sick time, go America) but he refuses to let her take her vacation time either. Is there anything that can be done about this since this seems illegal? This is also in the state of Louisiana if that helps. Thanks.
