My Grandma is dying and Mom can’t take days off..

My mom is a housekeeper at an ICU in a hospital. She's been busting her ass the entire pandemic (and well before) for minimum wage. My grandma's been very sick for over a year, she's been in home hospice care with her and my aunts taking weeks to care for her while still working.

Last week my grandma took a turn for the worst. My mom never calls out, rarely takes time off, whenever she's put in a request they always deny it and change it to a different date or say it can't be accommodated.

She called out today to be with her mom and told her job she wouldn't be able to come in again tomorrow.

Her job called her back and told her she has to go to work, but that it's okay because “if anything happens you can leave.”
