My interviewer started ranting about how no one wants to work this days on the phone

English is not my first language Today I received a call at 5 pm to schedule a job interview, and the man on the phone wanted me to go later that afternoon, at 7 pm. It takes me almost an hour to go there, and I already had a family appointment, so I asked for a reschedule if it was possible. He agreed, but immediately after he started ranting about how he’s a serious and formal person, and he expects the same from others, and how his time was also valuable, and that time means money, and how he’s tired of wasting money on forming people who quit after three months, and that this job is a long-term one, and I better take this seriously. English is not my first language

Today I received a call at 5 pm to schedule a job interview, and the man on the phone wanted me to go later that afternoon, at 7 pm.

He also said that in al, the years he was working he never saw something like this. I was thinking how that speaks poorly of his workplace, the ambience there and possibly the hours and payment, but I obviously didn’t say it.

While he ranted for dour minutes, I was like ️️ because what he was saying didn’t have to do anything with me, besides, it was a bit crazy to expect me to go to an interview with so little notice, it’s not like I’m sitting at home doing nothing glued to my phone just in case.

Anyway, I have the interview tomorrow. I’m hoping that it goes well and the paying is fair (I mean minimum wage at least, because here a lot of jobs are 8hrs or more and less than the minimum wage), because I really need a stable income to be able to move out of my parents home, since till now I only was able to find time-limited jobs due to the lack of experience. But I’m not too hopeful after the talk he gave me out of nowhere.
