Antiwork

My Job has an absence monitoring protocol which demands that if you’re absent for more than 4 times in a year, you can’t take sick leave for 6 months. If you do, you’re potentially liable for dismissal.

I was off of work with anxiety attacks and I returned too soon summertime last year. When I returned, my vehicle was stolen, causing me to have an anxiety attack. I was told that I “was excused for the period of absence but would be given a formal reprimand and a meeting of concern” for a directly related issue. My boss told me I’d be “asked to justify my time off” and that they’d understand, but they ended up drilling me about “unjustifiable leave”. I love my job, but I really do hate the absence policy.
