Basically I work at a restaurant and I had a table that wanted to split the check two ways. The bill ended up being about 300 dollars so 150 each. I must have been in a rush and super busy because I accidentally ran the same card twice instead of two different cards, therefore charging one card for the whole bill. Later on in the month they refunded the one half back and are now going to take 150 dollars out of my paycheck. Mind you I’ve never made this mistake before and have been working there for ten months. Never been written up or been late. Is this legal ( live in New Jersey).
