I started working for a huge company last March. I was brought on as a contractor with a temp to perm promise. The contract kept being extended. I was then told headcount had been approved for me to come on in January. Three weeks ago, I was told that they were retracting that offer due to changing business conditions, but they want to keep me as a contractor for 12 more months.
They have been liaising with the legal team to draft me a new contract, rather than simply extending it again with my usual contractual terms. They have played me so much I don't know what's going to happen, and with so many broken promises, I don't know if it's actually going to happen. They are being evasive with me, won't give me any updates and are holding off to tell me the new contract terms. The current contract officially ends in one week.
The only thing keeping me is the money being good, but mentally I am suffering and feel like i'm no more than a piece of crap on their shoes. How should I move forward from here?
