When I asked her to implement specific new technical/data-driven solutions I came up with that would prevent my team from being overworked. She and her higher ups undoubtedly will not be implementing these solutions.
They would rather abuse our time/work ethic as much as possible and see half the team quit than actually treat us with dignity by implementing normal hours. Instead, we are getting impossible working conditions/standards where each of us, no matter our seniority, are expected to perform twice as much work as assigned, perfectly and above/beyond expectations at all times without sick time, while the rest of the company is either quitting, being fired, or going on vacation in Spain for 3 weeks. One trans member of our team got fired days after his best friend killed himself due to “poor performance”.
These companies do not care about us one bit. These are some crazy times to be alive and we are lucky just to be surviving them. Never forget that.
