My mom works for a company that provides services for a school. When schools are closed, they don't work and don't get paid. The school is closed this whole week.
My mom is telling me that they emailed everyone on Friday saying that there is a mandatory meeting tomorrow on Zoom.
I don't know exactly how long the meeting will be but even if it's a 30 min virtual meeting, I'm confused why this meeting was scheduled on a day that the employees are supposed to be off? Is that even legal? How can I find out if my mom is entitled to pay?
If it matters, we live in New Jersey.
