My mom’s manager is a terrible person

My mom (57y/o) works at a senior care facility. Things were well until management changed last year; causing job cuts in order to save some money. My mom initially would work 4 hours in the evenings, which worked for her physical health, as she has tendinitis and fibromyalgia. But now, her manager eliminated those shifts and now my mom has had to work 10-6:30pm shifts 5 days a week. Her manager has been basically passive-aggressively trying to make my mom’s life a living hell.

With remarks that she should just “find a desk job”, or insinuates that my mom is lying when asking for a sick day, evening with a medical note. It’s effecting her mental health all the time and she tries to find coverage, but it’s very hard since they let go of so many staff members or many have quit due to poor management.

The final, and most recent thing that happened was late last week. My mom came into work and slipped and fell on something hazardous, like a dolly, that shouldn’t have been left/ store along the hall. She ended up falling on her side: hurting her arm, wrist, scuffed up leg and also landing on her face.

After this happened, the same manager had the gull to tell my mom to finish some tasks before leaving for home to recover. My mom immediately informed HR, and they said “absolutely not”, and she was off,

3 days later, my mom is still hurting, and now has lost her hearing on her right ear—the side she fell onto the concrete floor.

I’m just so pissed off at this manager, she’s a terrible person. My mom refuses to leave, because she doesn’t want to abandon the seniors there. She loved her job, but her manager needs go already.
