I hate to bring some positivity to this sub but I got a new gig and their motto is that we are a family. And they're actually trying for us workers!
Sick? Don't bother with a doctor note just don't bring your shit here. Christmas? Well you're going to come in grumpy after the holidays so let's just close the plant up for a week after. Slow day at work? Let's close down the shop and go to the rec center, full day's pay. You're newly hired and want 3 days off with just a month's notice? We get it, go have fun. You break your arm? We got you too, stay home and recover and our company paid health insurance will take care of your financial woes.
I've felt so happy in general lately and am getting paid more than I was at my old job that didn't care if I died, I'm actually more productive than I was at old job as well (hint, hint, wink, wink). It's so refreshing having a workplace that encourages a happy, social, and healthy lifestyle, I just wish I had found this company sooner, and in the US of all places.
