I work breakfast at a bistro inside a hotel. Sometimes I am the cook, sometimes I am the counter attendant, one harrowing day I was alone and working both. We set up buffets and banquets as well as quick service and made to order meals. I make a regular wage not tipped wage, tips are just a bonus but we make a lot in tips and they're pooled and split based on who was there.
My sister also worked at the bistro and was promoted to manager over the bistro a few months ago. That place is an absolute shitshow. She would submit orders for things we need and the GM wouldn't approve them so we were constantly out of everything. And then they would blame her for not getting the order. They refused to train her on the things she didn'tknow how to do like front desk and general hotel administration but they expected her to do it. Eventually she got fed up with it and quit. On Monday but before she quit she sent in the spreadsheet showing the tip breakdown to the GM. Who is supposed to add them to the payroll.
Payday was today. Tips were not added to my check. At first I thought ok its been a crazy week not only did my sister quit but the next day the assistant manager quit too. She must have just completely missed doing the tips this pay period. But no she didn't completely miss doing tips she only missed doing MY tips everyone else got theirs. There is also supposed to be an incentive bonus if you work all your hours without calling out. I have never called out but I didn't get the incentive either but its only $50 so I am not as worried about it as the tips.
So my check is $300 short and when I brought it up she played dumb like “oh no I don't know how that got missed.”
Now I am waiting for a response to see if I can get a paycard with the missing amount. Because I do not want to wait two weeks for it to be added to my next paycheck. I have bills to pay and kids to take care of. There's only 1 other cook and if they want me to come in and cook their buffets on her days off they better pay me what I am owed. I am so freaking mad this feels like retaliation for my sister quitting.
