Near impossible to find a “team lift” in warehousing or retail?

I'm just curious how many others have experienced this. You work in a warehouse, or at a place like Home Depot or Lowes, and the workplace emphasizes the importance of a team lift for really heavy objects. But when you need a team lift, the place is so understaffed that you can't find anyone to help, so you end up lifting like 100+ pounds by yourself, and this happens over and over. If you try to find someone to help, it slows you down and management gets on your ass for not working fast enough, so you just lift things by yourself that should require two people. Anyone ever nearly blow your back out because of the difficulty of finding a team lift partner in a material handling setting? Anyone actually blow your back out? I almost did one time lifting a 140 pound grill by myself at Home Depot, and I weighed about 150 pounds at the time. I could feel my lower back, which was doing the pivoting to get this thing on a shelf, rumbling, or doing something weird like that. It was a feeling I never felt before and don't want to feel again. It was like my back was about to slip a disc.

I'm lucky to still have a functioning back.
