I work in hospitality and every year my team receives around $1000 from corporate for high satisfaction scores. Usually we blow it a couple restaurants and local entertainment.
This year though they have usurped our normal plans and a bunch of coworkers agreed with the manager’s idea that we should visit all 9 other properties across 4 cities and I got outvoted.
Im not spending 8+ hours touring and learning more about our corporate’s hospitality portfolio unpaid. My manager has even stated “it would be good to improve our knowledge of the company for sales”.
They said that we’d end the night at an arcade but idk still seems F’d up to me.
Could anyone recommend an excuse I can give my managers to call out but not have them worried or try to reschedule the whole thing? Maybe ask for a mental health day? Any brain storming is greatly appreciated!
