needing resources

So I work at McDonald's, this morning I work up and I thought about unionizing my work. As with all fast food and retail, it's terrible to work here, and recently I've come across ba few things, 1) being that corporate has capped labor for us on overnight and first shift, limiting us to 3 people on overnight and 12 on first. Those are our busiest shifts. We are located near 2 highschools and lots of businesses, we get absolutely destroyed, all day. However, they put all the labor on second shift, the least busiest time. Management also has been telling new hires that the minimum wage is actually less then what it is, I was looking into it the other day to gage how much my my raise was, I make a few cents over the minimum, the current minimum wage in my area is $12.56/hr, management has been…

Management also has been telling new hires that the minimum wage is actually less then what it is, I was looking into it the other day to gage how much my my raise was, I make a few cents over the minimum, the current minimum wage in my area is $12.56/hr, management has been saying it's $12.32/hr.

When my cousin had abdominal surgery, had a doctor's note saying she needed to be sitting, and do no lifting, management would complain about her having a chair, try to make her stock the fridges, wouldn't give her breaks because she had the chair, it was just a mess. She messed up an old injury she has on her shoulder the other day and can't lift her arm up, she got it checked yesterday and has a doctor's note for it, and there was complaining that she wasn't doing her job. Our previous maintenance man had knee surgery and also couldn't life, but he wasn't offered any support in his job, which is why he's no longer works here.

One of the overnight girls has b en asked to come in on her days off, made to work 9, 10/hr shifts, and is so exhausted that it is now affecting her physical and mental health.

There are managers here that actively avoid working at all costs, to the point of abandoning her post in the midst of breakfast rush. It is then left to the only other person there to run the drive thru and front lobby. I've experienced that first hand, taking orders on both drive thru lanes, bagging orders for drive thru and handing them out to the customers, taking orders on lobby and running them out, as well as making all the drinks. At the end when I need to get more stock I find the manager in the office eating and play on her phone, not on break either. Even when we have other people up there and she can't sneak away, she will mess up orders and expect the the drive thru cashier to fix it because she can't be bothered to listen bro the customer's order correctly, or will just not do anything to the point I want to tell her to put the headset away because it's easier for me to just do it myself.

I've started looking into things about unionizing, but I'm not sure where to start, so I'm asking you guys for help with this, I've been here 3½ years, and I'm so tired, it's well past time we started making noise
