Negotiation advice needed

Hi everyone I’ve left a rather shitty job recently after my dad passed away. (It’s not that important but you can read a bit more about it in my post history) I am therefore a lot more cautious about where I work. I currently have three options of offers. One is a contract day rate position, which will be fine for me in the time being and will be a 6 month contract, decent day rate but no benefits, which is standard. I can do this one to tide me over regardless. A company that is considered one of the best in their industry to work for. Hi everyone

I’ve left a rather shitty job recently after my dad passed away. (It’s not that important but you can read a bit more about it in my post history)

I am therefore a lot more cautious about where I work. I currently have three options of offers.

  1. One is a contract day rate position, which will be fine for me in the time being and will be a 6 month contract, decent day rate but no benefits, which is standard. I can do this one to tide me over regardless.
  2. A company that is considered one of the best in their industry to work for. They are offering 35000, but also offer on call (which I used to be expected to do for free), working from home (when I was expected to travel an hour to the office every day every day), profit sharing, bonus, great holidays and great perks. It’s also working for a government contract and those are usually fairly easy going.
  3. The next one is a smaller company. But this is a step up from my current role. I would be “in charge” here. They were talking about 55000 during the interview, but have asked what the current place are offering me when I advised them I have another offer on the table.

What do I say to negotiate here? Any advice would be appreciated.
