Never do more than the bare minimum at your job

So I (24F) got a job at a nursing home a year or so ago and after working as a housekeeper there a position opened up in laundry which was much easier and the same pay so I took it. Now the two other people who worked laundry mostly watched movies out back in the laundry room between loads and only went out when they had to take clothes to rooms. However, I have adhd and it is hard for me to sit in the same room for 8 hours with no human company so I would occasionally venture out and do the other part of my job which we were told we had to do. That was answering people's call lights for if they needed assistance. I would do what I could for them and if needed notify the nurses of what the resident needed if I couldn't do…

I would do what I could for them and if needed notify the nurses of what the resident needed if I couldn't do the task (ie changing).

The first time I got in a write up was because a nurse complained that I was being bossy when I was just trying to be helpful and make it so they didn't have so many call lights to answer. (this nursing home is very understaffed). I explained my side of things and the boss seemed to understand.

The second time was because I had made friends with a few of the residents (one of which was my grandmother) and one day I was informed by the head of housekeeping that I wasn't allowed to visit with residents I weren't related to. This had never been mentioned to me before this point but I immediately complied and even avoided those people to not cause conflict.

The third and last write up followed the events when we had the water shut off all day and I had nothing to do but still had to be at work. I had made multiple trips inside to try and find some work to be done and help out so at one point I was standing at the nurses station talking with a nurse for a moment. I'd finished the conversation and the nurse left so I glanced down the halls to see if any call lights were on (they weren't) and between then and when I went to leave the nurse at the station kept asking if I needed anything. I kept saying no (I wasn't even standing there that long but she asked like 3 times). A couple hours later I came back out because I found a rattle toy with no name but I thought I knew who it belonged to so I asked a nurse (who was honestly always a bitch to me) and she took it without acknowledging me.

I stood there a second to see if she was going towards the room I thought it was and by then the same nurse at the station was again asking me if I needed anything. I told her no and went back out after greeting another nurse I knew who was actually nice.

I'd made muffins for my coworkers and grandmother and took to work before and everyone loved them so the next day I was scheduled I got up early and started to make them from scratch. Well before I get them in the oven I get a text from the boss asking if I can come in then for a bit. You probably see where this is going but I didn't.

They told me I was being let go because a nurse claimed I was hanging around the nurses station all night and making her uncomfortable. I am a female and not very intimidating so the only thing I can think is I am very visibly gay and I barely acknowledged this woman except to offer a polite hello.

Should've just stayed in the damn back of the property by myself instead of trying to be helpful to those pieces of shit. Never do extra work and assume everyone at work is out to get you fired.

Best thing is my grandmother says this nurse is now struggling with her workload and doesn't have much help and she's just very slowly drowning in it all. Take a deep breath bitch you're gonna need it.
