started this new job thinking it was different after i just left a job with the same problem, and 5 weeks in wouldn’t you know the same thing is happening lmao.
strike 1: i’m a temp, so i’m not a salaried worker and have to clock in and out of shifts. forgot to one day, apologized profusely and explained what time i left and they proceeded to tell me “this organization doesn’t pay for travel time.” implying… something i never said and already apologized for
strike 2: reprimanded for helping coworkers with workload/shadowing on the job before asking manager first – idk maybe this one might not be that serious but it just felt childish
strike 3: for context, i work in hr and do a lot of hiring and onboarding. led my first call and shared a couple days later that a new hire contacted me with questions and i was able to help them, which i was really proud of as a new person to the role to help out. also shared this person told me, after me simply asking how’s your tuesday mind you, that they are having a great time with onboarding to my manager. this was after my manager started demanding i send over a log of everything i am doing in a day btw. i explained that in the log thinking it was nice to hear and was reprimanded then told all questions must go through them, and i am not to reach out to check in with new hires on how they’re doing.
i’m sorry but, am i tripping or is this a little much? i’m now about 2 months into this job and feeling a little uncomfortable with this management style. starting to remind me of the place i left but slightly more unhinged? lmao
