Ok, so this guy started Monday at my company at the same position as me. We got to talking Wednesday and we ended up on the topic of pay and he said he was getting $16 an hour and I’m getting $15 an hour after being here 9 months, so I was understandably upset. When we brought this up to our manager, he said we both are only getting $15. My coworker said on the Indeed page it said $16 an hour and was also told $16 an hour by the recruiter. Today, someone from corporate called and talked to him telling him it was a mistake and he’s only getting paid $15 an hour. This has to be illegal, right? He was told and accepted the job at $16 an hour, and now is only getting $15 an hour. Is this lawsuit material? Also, this is a multibillion dollar company and our location is in West Virginia.
