I’m starting a new job for a merchandising company that operates inside of Walmart. My onboarding from the beginning has been the worst experience I’ve had with any employer yet.
From the start, I was told I’d be given a work device to access everything, a work email, and 24/7 IT support whenever I need it.
Since starting, I’ve had to spend at least 3hrs on the phone with IT to access my work sites, IT were the ones to tell me my work email, how to access it and what I would need (not my manager like he should’ve), and they’ve reset other passwords numerous times. I know I haven’t just forgotten them, as I’ve kept close records of what my passwords are.
I have to access at least 5 different sites, download a VPN and a couple other programs onto my PERSONAL computer (Which I I’m very much against. This wasn’t the deal I signed for.), but they aren’t sending me links TO those programs, so I have to blindly google.
I was supposed to start the 26th of December, but here we are, still unable to log in. I’m having serious doubts about this job already. If the onboarding is already this horrid, how bad do you think the rest of the job will be?
