If you have ever seen Apple TV's Severance, for all intents and purposes that's what I do all day. I basically sit down all day and look for number patterns.
To keep my sanity, I was hoping I'd be able to bring headphones and listen to music or podcasts for 40 hours a week while I look for numbers.
NOPE.
My boss is like J. Jonah Jameson. He said it would distract me. (Actually, the OPPOSITE is true, duh.) I am only permitted to go to the restroom and eat for 30 minutes. Never gives anyone compliments because he thinks it would increase our leverage. Never listens, not interested in anyone's ideas or other skillsets, just talks to us like slaves.
I am being paid peanuts, by the way….
