New job wants us to arrive an hour early for training but this is unpaid. Should I turn up as they have requested?

Got a new job and I have my first training day tomorrow for 2.5 hours. 2 hours are paid as the other 30 mins is for an unpaid break. They have requested arrival from 1 hour prior to the start time due to assistance with admin, inductions and logins. Not sure why they're asking for an earlier attendance when it's unpaid. It's my first time in 5 years of working in retail that I've experienced this. Will I be okay if I turn up when the paid time starts rather than arriving an hour earlier as they have requested? I mean, what could they say against me for not arriving an hour earlier when I'm not getting paid for it? Just my nerves a bit all over the place as I'm on the fence about this one. Don't want to step on anyone's toes on the first day.
