No Clothing Allowance

Feeling a lil discouraged. I was offered a sales/insurance trainee full time position today. I have business casual clothes in good condition but the new job has extra requirements. For example a blazer must be when at all times (I'm female and a special size so I cannot thrift a blazer I have to order one to start) and I have a small tattoo on my chest so I cannot wear a v-neck shirt must find some shirts that cover my tattoo. I'm eager to get started and get an office position (I'm older 40s with some health issues) so it was my goal to get out of jobs of any kind where I must work on my feet full time. My gripe or issue is that the company is requiring all this and pays $13 an hour base pay. Not a lot of money to require all these very specific clothing items with no allowance.

I ordered the blazer this morning and it set me back about $45. Once I get started working I'll get another one. I got two round necked shirts today for $25. So I'm $70 in the hole already.

I don't think it's unreasonable to say that you must wear clean neat business casual clothing but all the extra requirements is kind of crazy to me without financial back up to help you meet the dress code. Men have to wear a shirt, tie, the dress shoes, dress slacks and a blazer. It could run into money so I guess I'm getting off cheap. They probably could go thrifting if they were average size.

But nobody wants to work right
