So earlier last year I invested in a coffee company. A small portion so I do not manage it in any way I am just an operating partner/member. However my first year agreement I had to work sweat equity with the amount of $$$ to get my portion. I learned how to roast coffee beans so we could produce the product for whole sale.
In that time, the president and operations manager moved us into a warehouse to roast the beans. This roaster is also up to 440 degrees. This was close to winter so we (myself and one of the coffee roasters) were worried about the lack of heat and air. We asked about heat since it was about to be winter. There never was one put in and we never even got a heater. One or two times I left upon arriving because I couldn’t feel my hands.
Once summer came around the warehouse was reaching 90 degrees. They gave us a medium sized fan. We complained several times about the heat and feeling uneasy while working.
One evening when we arrived our unit stated it was 99 degrees in the warehouse. When we told the operating manager he didn’t believe us. They think we are dramatic.
Sometimes we work nearly 10 hours in this condition and there’s nothing that I can do about it. I have no power. The president and op manager stopped responding to my emails, texts a while ago and never talk to me as if I am a partner in this company. They talk to me like I’m their teenage daughter. Even after working free over a year and investing what to me was a large portion of money in the company because I believed in it at the time.
Any advice would be great. I might have to delete because I don’t want to be sued.
