I live in VA, USA. Just found out that my boss claims I won’t get paid overtime for working beyond 40 hours during my 90 day trial. Why they are making me work beyond 40 hours is beyond me since I am not actively working for the company, but being trained. Still great getting paid through, but it seems unusual that being on trial holds me back from getting paid overtime.
Also, I like a 30 minute break, but I would sometimes rather skip lunch or eat while I work to get paid, but my manager says that a break is mandatory? Can a company make a break mandatory to avoid paying employees more money?
They also said that I can’t opt-out using a finger print for clocking in despite using a password is definitely an option as seen on the screen. She also said I can’t use my pinky despite doing it anyways and it worked just fine.
If anything is fishy, having some legit sources to show to my boss would be great to stick it to the higher ups.
Thanks.
