I have been trying to leave my job for the past 2 months. I work in sales operations currently and also have 4 years experience in sales/account management. I went to a good business college, got a good GPA, but went into an industry that was not high-paying for 3 years out of school.
My company recently went full-time in person and now I commute 55 min each way for a 50k job. It is draining me mentally and I’ve been applying, networking, and developing skills for the past 2.5 months.
I’ve applied to over 500 jobs (most of them were not Easy apply either). I’ve messaged many recruiters. I’ve interviewed with 7 different companies. I’ve had final rounds with 3 companies. And now I received a rejection from all of them. I’ve probably spent an average of 2 hours a day either interviewing, applying, or searching for job leads. All for literally now back to square one. Don’t tell me know one wants to work anymore.
I think I’m just going to accept the fact that I’m stuck in a job that barely pays my bills and I’m going to be working until I’m 75. I’m giving up for the time being.
