So the other day I'm at the SELF-checkout where I could overhear the entitled booMEr couple next to me talking and the husband said to the wife as he's picking up an 18 pack of water from the bottom of their cart, “These things are so heavy. How come nobody is over here to help me pick this up?” where the wife said, “It's because they're over there talking to each other. They just want to talk and not work.”
It was a manager talking to the bagger and self-checkout attendants. The bagger floats between bagging and assisting the self-checkout area depending on where they're needed.
That's when I started cracking up laughing, thinking to myself, “You're in the damn self-checkout, you didn't ask for help or push the “I need help” button, and you want to complain that people having a meeting with their manager can't read your mind or see through the machines to know you have an item that you may need help with. People like you put the ME in booMEr.”
I can't stand people who go to the DIY section and complain that they have to DIY. They could have just as easily went to a full service checkout line where the bagger would have unloaded their cart for them.
Why is this r/antiwork? They complained about people doing their job. They complained that they didn't get the help they didn't ask for. How are the employees people 50ft away in the literal middle of the store having a meeting with a manager supposed to know you need help if you don't ask for it or push the help notifier that will alert 3 of 4 people you're complaining about to come and help you.
Nobody wants to work by pushing the help button anymore. Damn entitled booMErs.
