‘Not been here long enough to take holiday?

I have been at this part time restaurant job maybe two months, and my gf suggested we go to her home town in a different country for a few days. I said okay, but only for a few days as I didn’t want to take too much time off work. There was still about 6 weeks to go and the rota hadn’t had been done so I didn’t think it would be an issue. I requested the holiday on the work app, so I’d miss maybe 3 shifts and it said I had 7 days holiday available. The flight price was cheap but it was only going to be that price for a few days so we booked it together. A day after requesting the holiday it came back on the app saying every single day had been rejected. First thing I do is message my manager asking why, and she said it shouldn’t be an issue and she’ll sort it. I thought okay, problem solved. Later that day she messaged me saying I hadn’t been at the company long enough to request holiday? Is that even a thing – i’ve been there nearly two months now. So I want to escalate it further, since i’m part time and i’ve given enough notice – you have to give 2 weeks minimum and I’ve given over 6. Is there any way around it? Or do I just have to accept I wasted money on flights?
