So I recently started a new job last week as a dispatch manager for a trucking business. Before starting here I was driving for Amazon delivering packages. I am still employed for Amazon since the scheduling is so flexible I can literally say “hey I can’t work this whole week, ill let you know if I can next week”
anyway this new job is…ok. It’s your typical office, computer, phone type stuff. One thing that doesn’t sit good with me though is how the business is run. My role is basically calling freight brokers for loads of product that needs to be moved. Then I have to find a trucking company that can supply a truck and driver to move this product within a set date etc. The one problem I am having is lying.. basically the broker and trucking company can’t know we are working with each other so I am the middle man. So the broker thinks our company is supplying the truck and doing the deliveries ourselves when really we are reaching out to other companies to do it.
So last week there were issues with some deliveries where they were going to be late so we had to basically lie to the broker saying the truck broke down we will let you know on updates soon. I know it’s not to big a deal but if I have to do this a least once a week and have to remember “oh yeah need to lie to this broker”
Anyway sorry if I’m going on and on but I’m trying to figure out if this job will be worth it if I have to keep up with fake stories and all that. The only good reason I would stay is because it pays $24 an hour whereas Amazon was $17. But I am kinda missing Amazon tbh because I don’t have to talk with people on the phone lol.
Again sorry if this post was redundant and stupid. Just looking for advice.
